BUTTERFLIES

Butterflies

0 - 2 years

Our babies are looked after and cared for by qualified, experienced staff in our separate dedicated baby unit located at the back of the nursery. We pride ourselves on having a ‘home from home’ environment and we work closely with parents to keep to each babies’ home routine. Parents will be given an ‘all about me’ form to complete, giving our staff an insight into your child’s likes/dislikes, and routine. The baby room is spacious and bright with a specific area for our non-mobile babies to be able to move freely and safely at their own pace, exploring their surroundings on soft play mats. We have a calm and relaxing sleep area, separate kitchen area with high chairs for our younger children and small tables for our older babies, and a separate nappy room. We provide nappies and wipes for all children and formula milk up to 1 years old.

We work closely with parents while children move from bottle feeds to weaning and will keep this to a familiar routine that the child has at home. We will only give foods that you have given your child at home so once they have had a taste of something new you can let us know and they can enjoy this at nursery too. Our staff provide lots of love, comfort and cuddles for the babies whilst teaching them about boundaries and rules. The babies learn to build close and secure relationships with the staff and other children and learn to develop a healthy independence.

Tiny Mites music and movement offers a fun and interactive session for our babies incorporating music, objects, dance and exercise. Studies show music in the early years is a vital part of developing listening skills, creates brain stimulation, social skills, an outlet for creativity and is mood changing.

Yoga is a weekly educational program with an outside company who come into the nursery and provide a sports session for all age groups, this alongside free-flow access into the garden ensures children are provided with plenty of opportunities to physical play and fresh air. We even ensure that our babies get lots of ‘tummy time’ inside and outside to develop their physical skills. Research indicates that regular physical activity in the early years provides immediate and long-term benefits for physical and psychological well-being. Regular physical activity is essential in developing motor skills, promoting healthy weight, bone development and enhances children’s social skills.
